Akinlolu Akande's Bio

Brief Biography

I obtained a B. Sc. In Physics from Abeokuta University in 2000 and a M. Sc. In Physics from Ibadan University in 2004 -(Nigeria). I later proceeded to International Centre for Theoretical Physics, Trieste, Italy for a Diploma in Condensed Matter Physics (DICTP) in 2005. I joined the Computational Spintronics Group in 2005 and my research focuses on quantum transport in a 1D Hubbard Model and Anderson Impurity Model which is typical model for a Quantum Dot. The numerical tools used for this work include Density Functional Theory, Exact Diagonization, and Density Matrix Renormalization Group. Insights from this work will hopefully provide some understanding of transport properties in strongly correlated systems.
